What Our Guests Are Saying

A True Gem in Maida Vale – I’ve been visiting this wonderful Maida Vale pub near Warwick Avenue for years, and it never disappoints. Most recently, I stopped by with a friend for a few pints and was once again impressed by the charm and authenticity of this historic Victorian gem. The pub’s authentic wooden interiors are simply stunning, with intricate carvings, snob screens, and beautifully engraved bow windows that capture the spirit of a bygone era. The central servery, surrounded by five original compartments divided by wood and glass partitions, is a rare and extraordinary feature. It’s a space that tells a story with every detail – from the ornate back bar to the mosaic floors and real log fire in colder months. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and an eclectic mix of locals and visitors alike. It’s the kind of place where you feel part of the community as soon as you step in. The food is just as impressive. Whether it’s a classic pub dish or one of their delectable Sunday roasts, the kitchen deliver dishes made with sustainably sourced, seasonal British ingredients. Pair that with their wide selection of drinks, and you’ve got an experience to remember.

Great pub, I live about 25 minutes away and always knew about the beautiful interiors; have been visiting and drinking here intermittently for the past 6 months. Friends are always impressed when I bring them here, and remark on how fantastic this looks, and how good the service is. I never usually drink Espresso martinis (made tonight by Morgan)but the ones served here are fantastic tasting and great value! Aromatic and not too sweet, as they should be!

We discovered this gem by accident on our last trip to London, and a Sunday roast here was high on the list for this trip. A gorgeous pub oozing character, it has quaint ‘snob screens’ that separate sections of the bar. They’re a lot of fun to navigate, and give a truly unique ‘British Pub’ experience. The service was great – very friendly, and the food was divine. This has the feel of a local pub, off the beaten tourist track, and is situated in a lovely part of town, not far from Little Venice. Well worth a visit, no matter how short your time in London is. Just be sure to book ahead if you want to dine in the ‘snob screen’ area.
